Product description

The DPSI RV Mini is a [Dual power supply]] with electronic switch, servo current distribution and servo signal distribution. Depending on the version to the DPSI RV Mini 5 respectively 6 receiver channels can be connected on the input side and 7 respectively 8 servos can be operated on the output side. The Magic version of the DPSI RV Mini are equipped with and integrated servo matching technology. So center position, end positions and direction of the additionally connected servos at the output side can be adjusted.

Versions

The DPSI RV Mini is available in five versions. These differ by the number of DPSI channels as well as the number of servo signal distributors or the servo match channels.

DPSI RV Mini 5

The DPSI RV Mini 5 has 5 DPSI channels to connect 5 receiver channels. The DPSI channels 1, 3 and 5 are servo signal distributors to connect each 2 servos at the output side. Both servos get the same receiver signal. With the DPSI RV Mini 5 8 servos can be operated on 5 receiver channels.

Servo signal distribution of DPSI RV Mini 5

DPSI RV Mini 5 Magic

The DPSI RV Mini 5 Magic has 5 DPSI channels to connect 5 receiver channels. The DPSI channels 1, 3 and 5 are servo matching to connect each 2 servos at the output side. Both servos get the same receiver signal. One of the two servos acts as MASTER servo, the other one as SLAVE servo. The SLAVE servo can be electronically adjusted to the MASTER servo. With the DPSI RV Mini 5 Magic 8 servos can be operated on 5 receiver channels.

Servo signal distribution of DPSI RV Mini 5

DPSI RV Mini 6

The DPSI RV Mini 6 has 6 DPSI channels to connect 6 receiver channels. The DPSI channel 6 is a servo signal distributor to connect 2 servos at the output side. Both servos get the same receiver signal. With the DPSI RV Mini 6 7 servos can be operated on 5 receiver channels.

DPSI RV Mini 6 Magic

The DPSI RV Mini 6 Magic has 6 DPSI channels to connect 6 receiver channels. The DPSI channel 6 is a servo matching channel to connect 2 servos at the output side. Both servos get the same receiver signal. One of the two servos acts as MASTER servo, the other one as SLAVE servo. The SLAVE servo can be electronically adjusted to the MASTER servo. With the DPSI RV Mini 6 Magic 7 servos can be operated on 5 receiver channels.

DPSI RV Mini 6 bavarianDEMON Edition

The DPSI RV Mini 6 bavarianDEMON Edition has 6 DPSI channels to connect 6 receiver channels. The DPSI channel 6 is a servo signal distributor to connect 2 servos at the output side. Both servos get the same receiver signal. With the DPSI RV Mini 6 bavarianDEMON Edition 7 servos can be operated on 5 receiver channels. The DPSI Mini 6 and the DPSI Mini 6 bavarianDEMON Edition are identical in terms of the servo channels and the specifications. There are only differences in terms of the output voltage selection (see Table 2: Selectable output voltages DPSI RV Mini) as well as visual differences.

Operating

Output voltage selection

The output voltage of the DPSI RV can be selected in two steps for the receiver and for the servos. This can be done with the enclosed jumpers which must be plugged to the slot at the housing depending on the desired output voltage.

Output voltage selection

In the example the servos will be supplied with the full battery voltage, the receiver will be suppied with 5.9 volts.

Die following output voltages are possible:

Table 2: Selectable output voltages DPSI RV Mini
Version Output voltage receiver Output voltage servos
DPSI RV Mini 5 / Mini 5 Magic 5.9V or 5.2V 5.9V or full battery voltage
DPSI RV Mini 6 / Mini 6 Magic 5.9V or 5.2V 5.9V or full battery voltage
DPSI RV Mini 6 bavarianDEMON Edition Full battery voltage or 6V Full battery voltage or 6V

Switching on and off

The DPSI RV Mini can be switched on and off by using the connected switch actuator. After switching on the DPSI RV Mini the LED of connected switch actuator as well as the red status LED at the DPSI RV Mini's housing. Shortly after the buzzer and the LEDs show the programmed battery type optically and acoustically. Then both LEDs change to permanent shining.

Batteries

Battery types

The following battery types can be used:

  • 5S to 7S NiCd
  • 5S to 7S NiMH
  • 2S LiIon
  • 2S LiPo
  • 2S LiFePO4

Starting battery programming mode

The battery programming mode is started if only one battery is connected to an arbitrary battery input of the DPSI RV Mini and then it is switched on. The buzzer will beep for 3 seconds, followed by a 3 second break. The DPSI RV Mini now is in programming mode.

Battery programming

Now the buzzer outputs a sequence of beep signals for the corresponding battery types (Tab. 3), followed by an 3 second break. The red LEDs at the housing and inside the connected switch actuator flash synchronized with the beeper. If the desired battery type (Tab. 3) is displayed the programming mode must be closed within the 3 second break before the next battery type is displayed with a new beep signal.

Exit battery programming mode

The battery programming mode will be quit if the second battery is connected within the 3 second break between the blinking codes.

Table 3: Beep signal, Blinking codes/battery types
Blinking code Battery type Nominal voltage
1x Blink 5 NiCd/NiMH cells 6.0
2x Blink 6 NiCd/NiMH cells 7.2V
3x Blink 2 LiIon cells 7.2V
4x Blink 2 LiPo cells 7.4V
5x Blink 2 LiFePO4 cells 6.6V
6x Blink 7 NiCd/NiMH cells 8.4V
7x Blink Deactivate test ---

If "7x Blink" (Deactivate test) is selected the DPSI RV Mini doesn't perform a voltage test. So empty batteries or similar errors will not be displayed.

Hint: At delivery the battery type "4x Blink" (2 cell LiPo battery) is programmed as standard.

Connecting receiver and servos

The receiver must be connected to the DPSI RV Mini's "RECEIVER INPUT" inputs with the included patch cables. The patch cables must be connected with the brown minus lead upwards and with the orange pulse lead downwards.
